Frequently Asked Questions
Is there anything I might be able to compete in with your organization?
Yes, we have local competitions to develop skill and some sports offer team experience that requires travel to compete. Each program will have a fundraising component to off-set the cost of travel.
Where are your programs located?
Bridge II Sports has programs in Wake, Durham, Orange Counties. However, we have partnerships in other places across the state. This partnership we promote and support. You will find information about them on the web.
Do you provide transportation to or from activities?
Bridge II Sports does not provide transportation. However, cooperation between parents, families and individuals can help with transportation. Bridge II Sports works hard to have regular programs within walking distance of local bus stops.
I have never played any sports before. Are you able to help me?
Absolutely! Experience and age is never a issues. This comes from the executive director who was recruited to the National ParaCanoe/Kayak team at 48, from attending a introductory training! Programs are designed to work with beginners and develop skills.
Do I need special equipment to play?
Bridge II Sports provides equipment for each of the sports offered. In some cases, personal equipment may need to be purchased such as knee pads, gloves, items that one would use regularly and would get sweaty!
I want to volunteer, who do I contact?
Thank you volunteers! We rely on you! You may contact Mary Swanson at maryswanson@bridge2sports.org. Additionally you may get more information on our Volunteer page
