Water Skiing
Adaptive Sports & Adventures Program (ASAP)
The Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program is designed to challenge youth and adults with physical disabilities to develop skills that will lead to and enhance an active and productive lifestyle - one without barriers or limits.
The Adaptive Water Skiing Program, provided by the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program along with the Lake Norman YMCA, is the only one of its kind in North Carolina. From beginning skiers to advanced, youth to adults, the adaptive water skiing program serves one of the most diverse populations and reaches persons with disabilities from across North Carolina. The youngest skier in the program is 3 years old! We have certified instructors and ensure the safety of each of our skiers. The adaptive water skiing takes place weekly from June through August at the Lake Norman YMCA in Cornelius, NC. We also provide skiing one Saturday a month.
