‘Cautiously Optimistic’—Can’t think of a better phrase to describe how we are feeling at Bridge II Sports as we head into June.

With North Carolina now in the ‘Safer at Home’ Phase 2 of easing certain COVID-19 restrictions, Bridge II Sports is moving ahead with full attention on the safety of our athletes as we plan to begin limited adapted sports programming.

We are focusing on our sports that are:

  • outdoors
  • non-contact between athletes or coaches/staff
  • require no shared equipment
  • can be participated in at a social distance of at least 6 feet

All participants in programming MUST:

  • REGISTER—no ‘walk-ups’ will be permitted
  • Sign the new Program Waiver with a COVID-19 addition, thanks Insurance company 🙂
  • Wear a mask that covers nose and mouth throughout the entirety of the program
  • Maintain at least 6 feet of social distance from other participants
  • Bring your own hand sanitizer and practice good hand hygiene while participating
  • NOT ATTEND if they are experiencing or have experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, etc.) within 14 days prior to the program date
  • NOT ATTEND if they have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has/had symptoms within 14 days prior to the program date
  • Note: Athletes with a visual impairment will need to have their own guide to help them navigate program locations.

On June 8th we will start with our bi-weekly Adapted Golf program with a limited number of athletes participating.
(Registration for the 8th is currently full)

We are working to begin archery on our new outdoor range, get cycling athletes back on the trail riding, and kayak at Lake Crabtree County Park. Stay tuned for those details.

Of course, we will continue to pay close attention to recommendations from the state and follow guidelines.  As much as we love playing sports and are excited to be taking some steps to get you back in the game, we’ll always have our eyes on the bigger goal of keeping our community safe and strong.
