Bridge II Sports staff Mike Rosenkrantz made the difficult but necessary decision to move to the west coast to be closer to his family.

He leaves Bridge II Sports and North Carolina having created a lasting impact of change in our athletes and our community ‘building bridges’ of  connection through adapted sport.

Mike was instrumental in recruiting several new players and getting families engaged and involved with our  BIIS Team PRIDE youth wheelchair basketball program. He not only coached the team with Akeem but sought out opportunities for our young athletes to have experiences of confidence they would never forget like playing with NBA All-Stars in Charlotte, being part of a ‘live art exhibit’ at CAM Raleigh, taking the court at halftime of college games including a NCAA Women’s Sweet Sixteen demo in Greensboro, organizing our first ever youth wheelchair basketball camp this summer for kids around the state and even bringing hoops to the North Carolina Capitol to educate our legislators about adapted sports.

Beyond these big moments, Mike’s true passion was in the thousands of small moments of connection he made one person or group at a time encouraging them to ‘give it a shot’ and truly understand first hand the power that sports have to break down barriers and bring people together.

Along with many of you that have gotten to know Mike we will miss his passion, endless energy and unwavering focus on ‘good’.
