On Saturday December 16, 2017 Bridge II Sports and the Charlotte Rollin’ Hornets teamed up at halftime of the NC State Men’s Basketball Game to give the crowd at PNC Arena an action-packed taste of wheelchair basketball.
(Big THANKS to Darrell– a Rollin’ Hornets dad– for putting together the incredible video above!)

It was awesome to watch these young adults take the court on the big stage representing their sport and making all of us in their wheelchair basketball family proud.

Amidst the excitement there was also sadness to think that many of these talented youth athletes would have to leave North Carolina to continue playing  ball in college.
Unfortunately the closest collegiate program is in Alabama!  Seems like in a state that takes such pride in collegiate basketball it would only make sense to expand that pride to the competitive realm of wheelchair basketball.
WE NEED A COLLEGIATE WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL PROGRAM  IN NC. Let’s keep these athletes in our great state and get them on those college courts– not just for a halftime demo.
