The Bridge just keeps on growing! We are pleased to announce that Bridge II Sports has teamed up with AmeriCorps Public Allies division to host 3 Allies for their ’Year of Service’.

What is an Ally? “AmeriCorps Allies are individuals from our communities who are committed to making a positive impact through service, and are seeking an opportunity to build skills and a network of emerging grassroots leaders.”

What is the Public Allies program? The Public Allies program can be described, “as a national movement committed to advancing social justice and equity by engaging and activating the leadership capacities of our young people.”

The allies at Bridge II Sports will work in various capacities to increase awareness, effectiveness, and reach all with the common goal of challenging perceptions of disability and impacting change through all that we do. The ally’s service year started in November 2019 and they will be with us until September 2020.

Please help us welcome: Travis Rothschild, Kristin Dungee, and Brandi Roberts to our family!

Travis Rothschild will be advocating for the EveryBODYPlaysNC initiative to be integrated into schools and acquiring contacts and resources to help get it funded. Travis says “I hope to leave here knowing that EveryBODYPlaysNC is a viable, sustainable program, that is well funded. That way I know I made an impact in the lives of several thousand children who are yet to realize they have an athlete within.”

Kristin Dungee will be working closely with the Events Director Katharine. Kristin will be boosting the effectiveness and helping coordinate Valor Games Southeast and August Madness. Kristin is excited to expand the vision and highlight awareness of adapted sports through our major annual events.

Brandi Roberts is the final addition to the team. She will be the side car to the marketing-mobile known as Brad. Brandi will help to expand the organizations reach through the use of digital communication tools, gain traction on social media platforms, coordinate exposure for the stories of those whose lives have been transformed by BIIS, and create more capacity for volunteers to join the organization. Brandi says while she is here as an ally the one thing she really hopes to accomplish is to connect with the people whose lives have been changed in a positive way by Bridge II Sports and honor their stories with the upmost integrity.

We are so excited to have them here!
