Valor Games SE 2019 Athlete Eligibility

RETURNING ATHLETES WILL NOTICE CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS YEARS’ ELIGIBILITY

Bridge II Sports is excited to host Valor Games Southeast 2019 from Monday, 20 May to Thursday, 23 May, 2019 in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina.
Your interest in this event is valued.
VGSE19 will provide introductory, intermediate and in some cases advanced level Paralympic-style, adapted sport competition for Veterans and members of the Armed Forces with physical disabilities.
Valor Games Southeast 2019 will provide spirited competition in Air Rifle, Sitting Volleyball, Boccia, Wheelchair Basketball, Archery, Table Tennis, Power Lifting, Indoor Rowing, Cycling, Kayaking, and Shot Put.

All eligible athletes are encouraged to apply, however
PRIORITY FOR VALOR GAMES SOUTHEAST 2019 ATHLETES WILL BE GIVEN TO:

1. Athletes from the following states: AR, LA, MS, AL, FL, GA, TN, SC, NC, KY, WV, VA, MD, DE, RI, NJ, PA, NY, CT, MA, VT, NH, ME, and Puerto Rico. There are 4 Valor Games held every year (Deep South in Texas, Far West in California, the Midwest in Chicago and the Southeast in North Carolina). In order to afford more athletes the opportunity to participate in Valor Games, priority for VGSE19 will be given to athletes from these states. All other athletes will be placed on the waiting list.

2. New athletes: a minimum of 10% new athletes will be maintained.

3.  Athletes who require adaption to participate in sport due to their disability.

Applications will be reviewed and athletes will be notified on the status of their application on 8 March, 2019.

We will be able to accept 135 athletes this year. Once we have sent acceptance emails to 135 athletes, the remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

Once an athlete is selected to participate in VGSE19 they will be sent an email along with links to register for their sports for each of the three days. Athletes will compete in one (1) sport per day and will be given the opportunity to try another sport on the first and second day but will not be competing in that second event.
