Carolina Thunder is proud to be North Carolina’s first Power Soccer team, dedicated to bringing the thrill of competitive sports to athletes who use power wheelchairs. Born out of the overwhelming success of our inaugural clinic in July 2024, we are now building a full Power Soccer league right here in the heart of the Research Triangle.

Power Soccer is more than a game—it’s a movement.  As the first competitive team sport designed specifically for individuals with physical disabilities, it provides a space where players of all ages and abilities can build confidence, forge friendships, and experience the joy of sport in a fully inclusive environment.

With guidance from the United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA), NC Power Soccer’s mission is to create an accessible, empowering, and safe team experience. 

Together, we can help young athletes roll onto the court with pride, purpose, and a team they can call their own.

Anyone age 5+ who uses a power chair is welcome to join a practice! They are held most Saturdays in Apex.
