Everybody Plays NC

The Everybody Plays NC (EBPNC) program is an inclusive adaptive sports experience integrated into North Carolina school systems. This immersive and mobile workshop led by Bridge II Sports, brings adaptive sports into local school systems to allow individuals with a physical disability to participate in physical education courses and extracurricular activities alongside their able-bodied peers. During the EBPNC program, students, faculty members, and school administrators are educated on the history of adaptive sports, the distinct types, and the endless benefits. Following brief instructions, students will play wheelchair basketball and learn the benefits of adapting sports to include anyone and everyone into the same game, encouraging inclusive thought and exercise. During this curriculum, students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the sport while being introduced to disability etiquette to promote respectful interactions among all participants during their daily lives. By diversifying physical education courses, the EPBNC program directly addresses mental and physical health, combats bullying, and promotes self-efficacy in students, resulting in an environment that supports the well-being and functioning of individuals with disabilities and the community.

Our goal is that every school in North Carolina would include adapted sports in their regular PE programming. Starting with high schools in RDU, BIIS plans to expand this program across the state, challenging the perception of disability one class period at a time.

  • Nothing! We provide everything needed, including sports chairs, coaches, and training! All you have to do is coordinate with the school!

  • On a day of your choosing in your PE classes! All we need is one day to take the pressure of planning your PE curriculum off of your shoulders! No extra work required!

  • Everyone! We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to play together regardless of physical disabilities. We bring chairs for all and we all play together while learning about disabilities.

  • In your own gym!
