Inspiration Golf
Did you give up on your dream of playing golf after your injury? Or did you disqualify yourself from becoming a golfer due to your disability? Well, it’s time to rethink those assumptions and join a clinic at Inspiration Golf!
According to Inspiration Golf’s website:
Inspiration Golf is a Raleigh-based Adaptive Golf Company dedicated to building health, social community skills, and personal independence through the sport of golf.
Inspirational Golf, as its namesake implies, provides a starting point for people to improve their quality of life through golf.
Our programs are designed to aid our golfers in their rehabilitative and therapeutic goals and lend themselves to integration as adjuncts to wellness in academic, government, hospital-based, medical facility, or community support group environments.
Our founder is an Occupational Therapist who brings years of experience working with individuals who have had a stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI, or amputation and is a trained Adaptive Golf Coach by David Windsor, PGA of the Adaptive Golf Association.
We have also partnered with four courses and PGA professionals to provide adaptive golf instruction and opportunities.
Our volunteers are also a vital part of our program. Consisting of community members, health professionals, and future health professionals, we offer individuals who volunteer opportunities to work with adaptive golfers of all types of abilities.
We are honored to serve you and we hope that we can help you to Play. Live. Inspired
Quick Summary:
-
Inspiration Golf leads monthly adaptive golf clinics on the golf course between April and November. These clinics are led by PGA professionals and trained adaptive golf coaches. Inspiration Golf also has a standing tee time at Lonnie Poole Golf Course immediately following the adaptive clinic for those that want to take their skills out onto the course!
Inspiration Golf also hosts bi-weekly Drive Shack meet ups in Raleigh, which is a great way to stay connected to the community, hone your skills, and have some fun!
-
The monthly golf clinics are available for anyone who has had a stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI, other neurological conditions, or an amputation. Friends and family are welcome to join as a volunteer!
The events at Drive Shack are available for anyone who would like to join. Drive Shack does not have infrastructure to accommodate for paragolfer carts, so if golfers would like to participate in the shot tracking technology that Drive Shack offers, they will need to be able to hit the ball off of the ground from a standing or sitting position. Golfers who are unable to do this are welcome to come and join in on the fun in other ways!
