Boccia
Boccia is a game designed for athletes with a physical disability. This skillful and precise game requires athletes to roll or throw blue or red leather balls onto the court while trying to be the one that lands closest to the white ball, commonly known as the "Jack". Various modifications or adaptations can be implemented into this sport, making it open to all athletes while being executed in a group of individuals or singles.

This is the beautiful thing about boccia. It is for anyone. More than any other sport, in boccia, competitions can be played between people of a wide range of abilities. Due to the adaptations available, a ramp user can play alongside a quadriplegic and against someone with a visual impairment and someone with cerebral palsy. This game is where all abilities unite and the only thing that defines your success is your practice and accuracy.
-
Until the end of August, boccia will be taking place at the Cary Senior Center on Mondays from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.
