Adapted Cycling

Adaptive cycling is designed for athletes of all abilities to participate through modifications and adaptations to meet every rider’s needs. Various bicycle types including tandems, hand-cycles, trikes, and accessible accessories are used to allow every attendee to fully engage in cycling. Our experienced team of volunteers plays a key role in creating a safe and supportive environment—piloting tandems for athletes who need a partner or riding alongside single riders to provide encouragement and assistance throughout the ride.

Adaptive Cycling meets every other Saturday in Durham or Raleigh throughout the spring, summer, and fall. We take advantage of the Triangle’s incredible public trails—including the American Tobacco Trail and the Neuse River Greenway—offering riders a beautiful and accessible cycling experience.
