Bridge II Sports tries Sled Hockey

Bridge II Sports is not here to run every program. We’re here to connect all of them.

BIIS is building a true one-stop shop for adaptive sports in the Triangle. If it exists, you should know about it. If you want to play, we’ll help you find your way in.

Today, sled hockey.

Hurricanes Sled Hockey is what this community looks like when it actually works. You’ve got players from 5 to 65 on the ice at the same time, including a 2026 Paralympic gold medalist. Same rink, same game. No separation, no labels, just a group of people figuring it out together and pushing each other to get better.

And make no mistake, this is not easy.

You’re sitting on blades, using two sticks to move, balance, pass, and shoot. It looks smooth until you try it. Then it’s chaos. Then it’s progress.

That’s the culture.

On the ice, none of the stuff that usually separates people matters. Ability, background, experience. It all fades. You’re just another player trying to stay upright and make a play.

Whether you’re propelling yourself or getting a push from behind, there’s a place for you here. If you’ve never tried sled hockey, you should. Just don’t expect it to be easy.
