Long-time and dedicated Bridge II Sports youth athlete Nolan has been facing serious medical difficulties these past several months and is currently on dialysis and awaiting a kidney transplant.

On Friday March 23rd the Bridge II Sports team and several of his Jr Thunder teammates came together to support Nolan doing something he loves – playing wheelchair basketball.

Nolan’s former middle school Reedy Creek in Cary hosted Creek Madness – an event in part to support Nolan and raise funds for his medical expenses. Bridge II Sports provided opportunities for students to try wheelchair basketball throughout the evening and capped off the event with a spirited demo game for the crowd. Prior to taking the court, a heart felt letter to Nolan from Ashley Thomas, Founder and Executive Director of BIIS, was read at half court as well as the presentation of a certificate acknowledging Nolan’s courage and strength.

Nolan surprised all in attendance by playing in the 15 minute game and even hitting a few shots including the game winner at the buzzer! (Check out some of the game footage below– Thanks for sharing Ms. Parks!)

Please support this incredible young man as he battles.

Looking forward to seeing him back in his sport chair and on the court full-time!
