Hopefully many of you have met them in person,
but we want to officially introduce you to our two summer program interns.

Stephanie is completing her Recreation Therapy degree from East Carolina University with an internship under the supervision of Program Cultivator Tyler Rowe. She has been a rockstar jumping right in with an outgoing personality and endless energy at programs and Valor Games SE.

Her love and understanding of adapted sports was sparked by her uncle, an avid bowler who has cerebral palsy. Stephanie also found recreation and sport an invaluable outlet when going through several personal surgeries during her life. She believes no one should ever have a reason to NOT find the things they enjoy in life. She is excited to dedicate her career to helping others find what they love to do and a way to do it.

When she is not spending as much time as possible outside, you might find her in the kitchen cooking and baking. Word on the street is she makes a mean vegan chocolate cake…think we need to try it to be sure (hint, hint).

You may recognize Brandon as our super volunteer from the Old North State Classic youth wheelchair basketball tournament last December. So glad to have him back with us for his internship!

All Brandon’s passions – creating opportunity for people with disabilities, service to others, and everything sports — come together here at Bridge II Sports. He is currently attending NC State University studying Parks, Recreation & Tourism with the ultimate goal of making the beauty and peace of the western North Carolina mountains available to all through accessible trails.

Brandon served 10 and a half years in the U.S. Army with deployments to Afghanistan and Qatar. He’s played competitive soccer for years culminating in a spot on the Army Team. He even got to ‘break in’ the pitches that will be used for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. After watching the Canes all season, he’s getting on the ice himself with an adult hockey class. He’ll be perfecting his Aho slap shot right after he gets the hang of skating!
