You know Jillian as the captain of the Bridge II Sports Team PRIDE wheelchair basketball team, but now you can also call her ‘State Champ’!

Jillian competes on her high school track team and finished off an outstanding 2022 season taking the North Carolina state championship in both the 100M and 200M Girls Wheelchair division. She recorded personal records in both events with times of 0:20:91 and 0:40:97 seconds respectively. As best as we can tell, Jillian was just a half second off the all-time state record in the 100M!

Jillian’s accomplishments this season were especially amazing considering her high school was renovating their track and stadium which meant practices took place in a parking deck or down at the middle school. Jillian supplemented practice time with training at home on a borrowed stationary roller.

Jillian has been renting her racing chair for the season from Bridge II Sports through our equipment loan program and worked with our program staff to get the best fit for maximum speed. So proud to be a part of the big win!

Can’t wait to see what she does next season…watch out state record — she’s coming for you!
