It’s hard to imagine May without Valor Games Southeast.
Sadly, that is what we are facing this year. We have had to make the decision to cancel Valor Games SE 2020 scheduled for May 18-21. Over the last several weeks at Bridge II Sports we have continued to move forward with planning, while simultaneously discussing with venues, sponsors, and staff how the spread of the COVID-19 virus might affect this event.
This week, we were alerted that the beautiful venues of Duke University and the University of North Carolina, taking necessary caution and concern, will not be able to host VGSE events on their campuses. We agree wholeheartedly with their decisions and the steps that the country and our state are taking to keep people safe and healthy.
We are so very grateful to all of you that have stepped up to make Valor Games Southeast the incredible event and celebration of life and community that it has become. We couldn’t do it without you. Valor Games SE will be back stronger and healthier than ever in 2021 – and we want you to be involved!
Until then…Bridge II Sports is putting plans in motion to create adapted sports events this late summer and fall for VGSE Athletes and volunteers to continue to come together in the spirit of camaraderie, stay active, and engaged!
Plans are in the works including Veteran teams joining on the court at August Madness and a weekend event of adapted sports competition for our VGSE athletes. Make sure to stay subscribed to emails from Valor Games SE and Bridge II Sports so we can keep you posted on the latest details. Please stay tuned right here, we are working to make something amazing happen.
Stay strong, well, and connected to all those in your life during this time.
We are thinking of all of you-
